Svartedöden närmar sig och under de närmaste åren kommer stora delar av befolkningen i Europa och norra Afrika att dödas av pesten.I Rattus bosätter sig spelarna i de olika regionerna i Europa och norra Afrika, medan pesten sprider sig genom alla dessa regioner. Spelarna får hjälp av medeltidens olika yrken. Några av dessa, som bönder och bagare, hjälper spelarna att växa sin befolkning. Vissa, som munkarna och nunnorna, använder visdom och tro för att undvika pesten, medan krigföringen som bedrivs av riddarna och soldaterna sprider pesten till nya områden. Pesten gör dock ingen skillnad. När råttorna kommer kan ingen känna sig säker. Till slut drar sig pesten tillbaka och spelet tar slut. Först då kommer det att bli klart vem som kunde hålla sin befolkning vid liv och vinna spelet! --- Vi har massor med spel av alla de slag och även gott om merchandise. ---It is the year 1347 AD. The players gain help from the various professions of the middle ages. Some of these, like Peasants and Bakers, help the players grow their populations. Some, like the Monks and Nuns, use wisdom and faith to avoid the plague, while the warfare conducted by the Knights and Soldiers spreads the plague to new areas. However, the plague does not make any distinction. When the rats arrive, no one can feel safe. Finally, the plague withdraws and the game ends. Only then it will be clear who was able to keep his population alive, and win the game!
