Solo-ition

Solo-ition is written as a solo composition for snare drum in which both the technical and musical abilities if the instrument come to the fore. The work lasts about 6-7 minutes and is a musical challenges ‘classical’ percussionists to present the snare drum as a valuble solo instrument.

Junior Rock

Junior Rock depicts two children, a brother and sister, who despite all their differences are both filled with the joys of life. The piece opens with a lively graceful theme depicting the light and good-natured mood that characterizes the two children playing. The music then becomes more calm and romantic in the middle passage. The piece comes to a cheerful and youthful close with the extended restatement of the earlier thematic material. It has been arranged for beginner bands and can be played with a minimum of six players (+ percussion).

Ad Fontis

The Latin title Ad Fontis means ?to the source?. This lively march in 2/4time follows traditional forms of march composition with a cheerfulopening followed by a somewhat more lyrical trio. This ceremonialgenre of old is often used in the army to keep up the morale of thetroops, however a march can also serve perfectly well to add luster toany concert and bring immense pleasure to the audience.

Song for Peace : from Casanova

Song for Peace (also known as The Nun’s Chorus) is from Johan Strauss Jr. much neglected opera Casanova. It has been arranged for beginner bands and can be played with a minimum of four players (+ percussion). It stately melody will bring a little regalness to any concert.

Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)

This 1994 song of Billy Joel is probably one of his most beautiful hits ever. It was originally intended as a prelude for another song ‘River of Dreams’ with lyrics in Latin. Philip Harper has created a magnificent arrangement for either two flugelhorns or two cornets.

Two Folk Songs : for Trombone and piano

Two Folksongs contains no traditional folk-songs, but rather two original pieces from the pen of the Dutch composer Jacob de Haan. The first piece, Klezmerantics, as the name implies is written in the Klezmer-style and Dancing Dalmatians is a dance in a popular music style.
