This is the Choral Score for Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber's 'Stabat Mater'.Well-known for his magnificent instrumental works and Violin sonatas, Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber is unjustly less recognized as a composer of sacred music. His works for Salzburg Cathedral were mainly written after 1670. The Stabat Mater is an impressive setting for use in worship, and includes four or six verses of the hymn. The four-part composition displays great simplicity yet stunning beauty, particularly in the concise contrapuntal presentation of each individual verse.

Exklusive Wiegenlieder CD-Sammlung Vol. 1

In conjunction and exclusively for the "Wiegenlieder Project," more than 50 of the most well-known singers from German speaking regions each sang their favorite lullaby for a CD recording. This extraordinary collection of lullabies will appear in two separate, attrative CD cases. All of the performers for this new recording volunteered their services without honorarium. This has made it possible to donate a portion of the proceeds for both CDs to further sing with children.

Bruckner: Ave Maria (Carus Classics)

The Carus Classics series features outstanding CD productions from Carus’ past library of recordings. The series has been designed exclusively by the well-known graphic artists Friedrich Forssman und Cornelia Feyll. The North German Radio Choir Hamburg under Hans-Christoph Rademann presents a wide-ranging selection of sacred works by Anton Bruckner for choir and wind ensemble. The selection spans, almost chronologically, a period of more than 50 years and thus allows the listener to experience the development of this most profoundly religious composer.

Exklusive Volkslieder Sammlung Vol. 1

In 2008 the concert and opera singer Cornelius Hauptmann initiated the charitable "The Lieder project" to further singing with children. The following year the "Wiegenlieder" [lullaby] collection was published. Once again, more than 50 singers have voluntarily, without remuneration, given their voices to sing the most beautiful German folk songs. This project will be continued with two further collections of children’s songs and songs for Christmas. The present collection of the most beautiful German folk songs is sung by leading concert and opera singers, choirs and children. The CD includes an extensive booklet with colour illustrations and song texts with English translations.

Missa St. Francisci Assisiensis

Francis of Assisi, the famous merchant’s son and later founder of a religious order, has served as a source of inspiration from the most varied perspectives, and Damijan Mocnik has added to this tradition. The Slovenian composer and choral director composed a cantata in 2013 on the 25th anniversary of the D iocesan Grammar School in Ljubljana, based on the text of the famous Canticle of the Sun, and later (2014–16) – using the cantata’s themes – a complete setting of the ordinary of the mass as well. The instrumental parts match both the version for four-part mixed chorus (Carus 28.008/00) and the version for upper voices (Carus 28.008/50).

Miserere In C Minor

It was not only the musicians of the 16th and 17th centuries who – for liturgical reasons – regularly presented settings of the penitential psalm 50 (51). Even in later times, composers occasionally cultivated this tradition, for example, the "Bückeburger" Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach with his 12-movement composition dated around 1770 which was only discovered in 1975. Bach’s Miserere, held almost exclusively in flat keys, consists of a balanced alternation of choral and solo sections. One common stylistic feature of all the sections is, in particular, the lavishly used "empfindsam" suspensions and small ornamental notes. As an example of the pre-Classical era, thecomposition is well suited for programmes featuring fast and penance compositions from several epochs.

Chorbuch a Tre

Today an increasing number church choirs are lamenting the lack of male voices. The present Chorbuch a tre (choir book a tre), anticipated by many, addresses this situation. It contains 160 three-part settings for two female voices and one male voice (some with accompaniment). The collection, designed for ecumenical use, offers a broad selection of choral settings for the church year, times of the day, praise and thanks, the Ordinary, etc. It includes works from from the 17th century to the present, and presents a range of various styles (including gospel and sacred pop). About 50 settings were written for this choir book by renowned composers and church musicians. Choirmasterscan now enjoy having a current, comprehensive collection of three-part choral settings with a variety of ideas for singing and making music in worship services.

Schwebender Klang : Die Orgel-Skulptur in Alpirsbach

Actually the Romanesque monastery church in Alpirsbach is no place for an organ. But in order to fill the space with organ music, a spectacular solution was found. By means of air cushions the instrument can be moved and be played from different positions in the Church. Its regular position is in the southern transept, where it can accompany sacred services. Thanks to the air cushions the organ can also be moved to the optimal “Solo-concert position; it hovers in the crossing, where it is then turned 90° so that it will be heard even to the last row of seats. Its “Orchestra-concert position is located on the edge of the nave, where the instrument is turned 50°. Thus it soundsfrom the length of the nave and allows the orchestra and/or choir enough room to perform. In cooperation with the organ builder Claudius Winterhalter, the sculptor and painter, Armin Göhringer, has ennobled the instrument into a work of art with his chain saw, by transforming it into a sculpture. The renowned organist Jürgen Essl presents the possibilties of the instrument with works by Bach, César Franck and with his own improvisations.

Psalms. Choral Collection For Mixed Voices

The Choral Collection Psalms contains over 50 settings for mixed unaccompanied choir from six centuries. It is a true treasure-trove of compositions in various styles and levels of difficulty: with some unknown new discoveries and some classics of the choral literature, the selection will enrich both worship and concerts.The 150 psalms of the Old Testament express rejoicing, joy, and confidence, but also lament, grief, anger, and even doubt. The psalms are present throughout Christianity and Judaism to this day and are sung worldwide in countless settings. The Choral Collection Psalms displays the whole stylistic and linguistic variety ranging from contemplative, simple"Anglican chant" through Russian Orthodox homophony to virtuoso motets with jazzy echoes.The linguistic spectrum is equally broad: English, French, German (some with added singable English translation), Estonian, Icelandic and, of course, Latin psalm settings are represented, as well as works in Church Slavonic and Hebrew (both accompanied by transliterations and a singable German text). The foreword (German/English) offers many hints regarding the performance of the psalm settings, and a detailed index will help with choosing appropriate pieces for the liturgical occasion according to the Anglican, Protestant, or Catholic calendar.Over the last ten years editor Stefan Schuck has performed two psalm compositions every week in his NoonSong series in Berlin. From the resulting 800 works, he has selected the most interesting compositions arranged according to level of difficulty. The choral director’s volume includes a CD with recordings of selected works, sung by sirventes and conducted by the editor, which will help with learning and rehearsing the repertoire.
