Apollo Marine Intelligent Base Mounted UV Flame Detector 55000-027MAR

Apollo Marine Intelligent Base Mounted UV Flame Detector 55000-027MARThe Marine Intelligent Base Mounted UV Flame Detector is designed to protect enclosed indoor areas where open fires may be expected. The detector has a fast-acting response to flames up to 25m away and is equipped with a single UV sensor with a narrow spectral response in order to discriminate between flames and most spurious sources of radiation.ApplicationUV flame detectors are used when detection is required to be unaffected by convection currents draughts or wind. These include engine rooms in ships factories affected by draughts or wind and warehouses. They are fast reacting and respond to a flame more than 25m away. The UV flame detector is affected by arc welding electrical sparks lightning nuclear radiation and UV light sources. For applications where these phenomena are present a UV flame detector should not be used.OperationThe detector is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation emitted by flames during combustion. Since it requires only UV radiation the detector responds even to stationary flames with no flicker like cigarette lighters and blue gas flames. The detector is set to respond to ultraviolet radiation 185260nm emitted by almost all flames including those invisible to the naked eye e.g. hydrogen fires. The detector has a single UV sensor with a narrow spectral response in order to discriminate between flames and most spurious sources of radiation and is designed for internal fully enclosed areas. Caution The detector will also detect electrical discharges from lightning or arc welding.Key FeaturesResponds to stationary flames with no flickerSensitive to UV radiation emitted by flames during combustionCompact flame detector which fits into Discovery Marine baseLoop-powered

Apollo Marine Intelligent Base Mounted UVIR2 Flame Detector 55000-028MAR

Apollo Marine Intelligent Base Mounted UVIR2 Flame Detector 55000-028MARThe Marine Intelligent Base Mounted UV Dual IR Flame Detector is designed to protect open indoor areas where open flaming fires may be expected. The detector has a UV and dual IR sensors responding to different wavelengths in order to discriminate between flames and spurious sources of radiation. They are used in aircraft hangers generator rooms diesel and gas turbines and paint works.OperationThe detector is sensitive to ultraviolet and low-frequency flickering infra-red radiation emitted by flames during combustion. Since it requires both UV and IR radiation the detector can operate in applications where a basic single UV or single IR detector would be inappropriate. The detector is set to respond to ultraviolet 185 - 260nm and low-frequency flickering infra-red 0.75 - 2.7ym radiation at 1 - 15Hz in order to detect all flickering flames including those invisible to the naked eye e.g. those emitted by hydrogen fires. The detector has one UV and two IR sensors responding to different wavelengths in order to discriminate between flames and spurious sources of radiation. False alarms due to electrical discharges from lightning or arc welding and flickering sunlight are minimised by combining the UVIR signals.Key FeaturesResponds to stationary flames with no flickerSensitive to low-frequency flickering IR radiation emitted by flames during combustion.Compact flame detector which fits into Discovery Marine basesLoop-poweredFalse alarms due to factors such as flickering sunlight are avoided by a combination of filters and signal processing techniques

Pleasenote This product incurs additional shipping charges.Hawco 320-052 88C 190F Marine Detect-a-Fire Heat Detector Pack of 6DETECT-A-FIRE D-A-F detectors are the heartof many fire protection systems. The highly reliable D-A-F has been thestandard for over 75 years. The D-A-F is used for signaling overheat or fireconditions. In most applications the D-A-F provides the initial heat sensingthat is used to activate suppression systems using clean agent CO2 inertgases wet or dry chemicals or water.D-A-F detectors are widely accepted because they aredesigned with rate compensation. This provides a unique advantage over bothfixed temperature and rate-of-rise types of detectors because the D-A-Fdetector accurately senses the surrounding air temperature regardless of thefire growth rate. At the pre-determined set point the system is activated.Fixed temperature detectors must be completely heated to alarm temperature andtherefore a lag in response time may occur with a fast rate fire. Rate-of-risedevices on the other hand are triggered by the rate of increase in ambienttemperature and are subject to false alarms caused by harmless transientthermal gradients such as the rush of warm air from process ovens. The key to the detectors sensitivity is in the design. Theouter shell is made of a rapidly expanding alloy which closely follows changesin surrounding air temperature. The inner struts are made of a slower expandingalloy. Designed to resist thermal energy absorption and sealed inside theshell the struts follow temperature changes more slowly. A slow rate fire willheat the shell and struts together. At the set point the detectorwill trigger actuating the alarm or releasing the extinguishant.A transient rush of warm air up to 40Fmin. may expand theshell while not triggering the detector. By ignoring transient warm airexcursions the D-A-F detector virtually eliminates false alarms prevalent withrate-of-rise devices. If a fast rate fire starts the shell will expandrapidly. The struts will close actuating the alarm andor releasing the agent. The faster the fire rate of growth the sooner the D-A-F detector will react.Key FeaturesRepeatable - self-restoring nothing to replace testableVersatile - various temperature settings availableDurable - long-lasting stainless-steel shellEconomical - wide spacings reduce installation costsInternal contact area hermetically sealed instainless steel shell

This includes the ability to reliably sense flames through high densities of solvent vapours and black smoke increasing the probability of early detection with consistent high sensitivity to flame throughout the whole field of view. They also ensure consistent detection of many different types of hydrocarbon fuels from alcohol to aviation fuel. Multiple interfaces are provided with the option of an integral CCTV camera to provide a visual means of operator verification.Key FeaturesTriple waveband infrared solar blind flame detection for optimum false alarm immunityUnrivalled black body rejection over a wide range of source temperaturesAutomatic Optical Integrity Monitoring4 Range settings - 6m 12.5m 25m 50mIS certified Baseefa 14ATEX0245X IECEx BAS 14.0113XHighly configurable via switch settings or P.C. softwareMED Marine approvedSIL2 certified Future EnhancementHighly sensitive to flame thus increasing the probability of early detection of hydrocarbon fires over a longer rangeAble to see flames through smoke and through high densities of solvent vapours thus increasing the probability of early detection of hydrocarbon firesInsensitive to artificial light sources such as halogen lightsConsistent high sensitivity flame detection throughout a 90 field of viewConsistent detection of different types of hydrocarbon fuels from alcohol to aviation fuelRegular self-testing of critical electronic circuits and regular monitoring of the detector window OIM reducing the frequency of regular maintenance visitsOptions of different system interfaces as standardSealed to IP66 and IP67 when suitable cable gland and sealant are used ensuring long term reliability in harsh environmentsPlease note The image is for illustrative purposes only.
