Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac Met bijna 300 jaar oud is Rémy Martin een van de oudste nog bestaande producenten van Cognac, opgericht in 1724. De merknaam zelf komt van de oprichter, geboren in 1695. Hij was wijnboer van beroep, die in 1724 een cognachandel begon. De cognacs van Rémy Martin dragen allemaal de appellatie Cognac Fine Champagne (dit betekent dat ze een blend zijn van eaux-de-vie van Grande en Petite Champagne crus - waarvan minstens 50% Grande Champagne). In VSOP is het percentage Grande Champagne 55 procent. Rémy Martin VSOP, opgericht in 1927, is de meest verkochte VSOP-cognac ter wereld. De aparte frosted fles werd voor het eerst geïntroduceerd in 1972. In de neus heeft dit een gezoet graanaroma, met een vleugje rijpe bessen. Druif en een vleugje olijf komen ook door. In de mond komen ook de tonen van rode bessen naar voren, vergezeld van vanille en honing. Mix van gedroogde vijgen en bananen met een vleugje milde kruiden. San Pablo Reserva 15 Years Curaçao Rum De eerste rum, San Pablo Gold Rum, werd in de jaren twintig in Cuba geproduceerd door Sr Justo Gonzalez. In de jaren dertig werd een exportovereenkomst gesloten met August Damian Jonckheer van het Nederlands-Caribische eiland Curaçao, en de rum vond zijn weg naar het eiland. Na jarenlang de rum te hebben geïmporteerd, werd in 1945 de eerste kleine batch op het eiland vervaardigd, waarmee Curaçao's eerste rum ontstond. In 1960 was de distilleerderij in Cuba gesloten en kocht August Damian Jonckheer het bedrijf en de recepten, voordat hij de productiefaciliteit van Ron San Pablo op Curaçao bouwde. In de daaropvolgende dertig jaar ontwikkelde San Pablo zich tot de meest populaire rum op het eiland. Op weg naar een nieuw tijdperk werd in 2021 de San Pablo Reserva 1945-serie geboren. A collar label, in the shape of the Island rounds this off hung delicately from the neck of the bottle. Two new ingredients make themselves known in this edition; In keeping with their other botanicals (all from the mediterranean region) these are Lemons from Capri and bergamot. These are added to the distinctive, mediterranean botanicals found in Gin Mare, being Arbequina Olives from Spain, Basil from Italy, Rosemary from Greece, and Thyme from Turkey. Don Julio Anejo Tequila Don Julio González had niet veel, maar wat hij wel had was passie en een droom. Het begon allemaal in 1942 in Mexico, toen hij een unieke kans zag in de productie van tequila. Nadat hij zijn visie had gedeeld en een lening had afgesloten bij een machtige lokale zakenman, opende Don Julio zijn eerste tequila-distilleerderij in La Primavera, in de Jaliscaanse Hooglanden. Het was zijn passie die 's werelds eerste luxe tequila inspireerde. Veertig jaar lang liep Don Julio elke dag langs de agavevelden, waarbij hij het gras rond elke plant (die meer op zijn kinderen leek dan op een gewas) maaide om ze te beschermen. Hij oogstte elke plant afzonderlijk en koos de planten met de meest optimale rijpheid en gezondheid, en bracht op vakkundige wijze de bittere smaak van de piña (het hart) en de zoete bladeren van de agave in evenwicht. Het klimaat in de Jaliscan Highlands is het perfecte microklimaat voor de blauwe agave, met warme dagen, koele nachten en rijke kleigrond. De grote hoogte maakte landbouw en oogsten een uitdaging. Het was fysiek veeleisend, maar Don Julio doorstond de extreme omstandigheden om een luxe tequila te creëren met een uitzonderlijke substantie en een onbetwistbare spirit. Don Julio Anjeo Tequila is een kleine batch, superieur smakende oude tequila. De basis is gemaakt met Don Julio Blanco, een tequila in zijn meest ware vorm, ongerijpt, dubbel gedistilleerd en gemaakt met de beste blauwe agave met behulp van een beproefd distillatieproces. Hij rust 18 maanden in Amerikaanse witte eikenhouten vaten, wat resulteert in een tequila die rijk, vol, onderscheidend en complex is. In de neus is er een frisse citrusmix van limoen, grapefruit en manadarijn met een vleugje rijke karamel. In de mond is de gekookte agave in balans met wilde honing, met eikenhout doordrenkte butterscotch en een vleugje vanille. Het heeft een heldere en licht gekruide afdronk. Hun Juniper Cask Gin is de eerste ter wereld die op jeneverbeshouten vaten is gerijpt. Met dezelfde gedistilleerde gin als hun kenmerkende Hernö Gin, verdunnen ze deze tot 47% ABV. Deze rijpt vervolgens 30 dagen in jeneverbeshouten vaten. Deze keer in de vaten geeft de rijping een intense jeneverbesnoot die wordt afgewerkt met een lange en harmonieuze hint van citrusschil. Ron Esclavo XO Rum De Ron Esclavo-rumserie bevat vier delicate rums uit de Dominicaanse Republiek, die allemaal tropisch gerijpt zijn. Hennessy VS Cognac The history behind Hennessy goes back to 1765. It was an Irish Jacobite officer who had served in the army of Louis XV that started the Hennesy Cognac Distillery. He had retired in the cognac region where he setup the distillery and began exporting his products to the UK and Ireland. Now known as one of the 'big four' cognac producers in the world (who between then produce around 85% of the world's cognac). Hennessy is the largest of the four, and produce around 70 million bottles of cognac a year. In fact, it was in 1840 that Hennessy became the worlds leading exporter of Brandy, and to this day have not lost that title. Being a type of Brandy, Cognac falls under the French appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) which means there are strict requirements to be called Cognac. These include twice distilling specific grape varieties in copper pot stills and aging for a minimum of two years in Limousin or Tronçais oak casks. The VS (very special) designation denotes that the youngest brandy within the blend has had the minimum two years in casks (it is always the youngest brandy in the blend which gives the designation).  Hennessy VS Cognac is a blend masterfully created from over 40 different eaux-de-vie. It is the Master Blender who oversees this process to ensure the quality.  The result of this blending and knowledge is a full bodied cognac. With a renowned smoothness, and a touch of sweetness it has distinct spice notes. The aging in wood gives a light nuttiness to the cognac, which join with flavours of rich dried fruits and berries. The Macallan 12 Year Triple Cask Matured Whisky 70cl

The Macallan 12 Year Triple Cask Matured Whisky Opgericht in 1824 (waardoor het bijna 200 jaar oud is) De Macallan-distilleerderij is gevestigd in Craigellachie, Moray in Schotland. De Macallen wordt geclassificeerd als de tweede of derde best verkochte single malt scotch (achter Glenfiddich en misschien Glenlivet). Aanvankelijk werd The Macallan alleen gerijpt in eikenhouten sherryvaten, die de distilleerderij meebracht uit Jerez de la Frontera in Spanje. In 2004 introduceerden ze echter de Fine Oak-serie (nu bekend als de Triple Cask Matured-reeks), die begon met het verzachten van whisky in zowel bourbon-eikenvaten als de klassieke sherryvaten. Met hun Triple Cask Matured-assortiment heeft Macallan een reeks single malts gecreëerd die zijn gemaakt in een triple cask-combinatie van Europese en Amerikaanse sherry-gerijpte eikenhouten vaten en Amerikaanse ex-bourbon eikenhouten vaten. Het is deze combinatie van eikenhouten vaten die zorgen voor een soepel en delicaat karakter dat barst van citrusvruchten, vanille en vers eikenhout. Kamiki Blended Malt Whisky Kamiki-whisky, gemaakt in Nara, een van de oude hoofdsteden van Japan, is een unieke gemengde Japanse whisky. De naam zelf, Kamiki is een mix van twee Japanse woorden; Kami, wat 'God' betekent, en Iki, wat adem betekent. Independent. Proud." - These are the 'truths' of Dingle distillery, and which they hold true to themselves. Located in Country Kerry in the South-West of Ireland, the Dingle Distillery produces whiskey's that they believe to be a product of their environment. They use local well water, manually mash their barley, use wooden fermentation vessels and copper pot stills. The environment they are located in also ensures the maturation process creates a whiskey unlike any other. For their Pot Still whiskey's they use a mix of malted and unmalted barley. Fun Fact: Bealtaine is a special day in the Irish calendar. It marks the end of spring and the beginning of summer. An homage to the arrival of long summer evenings and the Bealtaine fire festival, this is a Pot Still whiskey which has been matured in Bourbon Casks, before being finished in a Shiraz Cask.  The aroma of this whiskey has sweet aromas of sundried raisins, rich dates, and vanilla cream. Merlet XO Cognac The Merlet family have been producing wine since the 18th Century. But it was in 1850 that Firmin Merley began distilling just outside the village of Saint Sauvant in the region of Saintonge Using this, he began to distill his own harvest. It was his successor, Edouard, who began providing fine eaux-de-vie to the large cognac houses like Hennessy. Through generations, the Merlet family have refined their expetise in producing unique eaux-de-vie which is respectful of the Saintonge terroir. However, it is time in oak barrels which ensures their eaux-de-vie develops into harmonious cognacs. For their XO Cognac, the current family members (Gilles and his sons) produce this blend from very old eaux-de-vie (which have been aged for at least 10 years) which are distilled in their stills, and matured in the family's cellars. An Dulaman Santa Ana Armada Strength Gin 50cl

An Dúlamán Santa Ana Armada Strength Gin Located in the far north west of Ireland, on the rugged atlantic coast, An Dúlamán gin is made in the shadow of Sliabh Liag (a mountain in County Donegal). The Armada Strength gin is created from a base of the original An Dúlamán Gin, which is then barrel aged in Spanish Rioja casks before being bottled at a higher alcohol Navy Strength. This is the first navy strength gin to be produced in Ireland. The base An Dúlamán Gin is created using eleven different botanicals - which give it a maritime feel. Six of these are the 'conventional' gin botanicals, including juniper berries. However it is the other five, which give this gin its sense of place (and helps with the name). Five different varieties of locally harvested seaweed capture the “Draíocht na Farraige” or 'magic of the sea'. These five seaweeds are: Carrageen Moss, Dulse, Sugar Kelp, Channel Wrack and Pepper Dulse. The aging of this gin in Rioja wine casks further enhances the gin, adding both a rose gold hue and a slight sweetness to the complex maritime notes of the original.  The name itself comes from one of the many ships which crashed on the Irish coast. In particular for this gin; La Duquesa Santa Ana, which ran aground off Loughros Mór near Ardara in Donegal. The commander (Alonso de Leyva) was a nobleman from the Rioja region of Spain - which is where the inspiration for the aging process came from. On the nose there are defined fruit and sweetened oak notes, brought from the casks - as well as a comforting wave of umami (savouriness). On the palate this is exceptionally soft and smooth (particularly surprising considering the high ABV). Salty maritime notes come through joined by warming spices and peppery juniper. These are rounded out by a hint of anise, and fruity berry notes from the cask aging. It's finish linger in the mouth, and leaves a warming hint of orange. More from An Dulaman Perfect Serve This is delicious in a gin & tonic, and we find it works best (in our opinion) with a neutral tonic - and we liked Three Cents Tonic Water. It can also be enjoyed simply on the rocks, with a twist of orange peel. Take a large glass and fill with ice. Pour in 50ml of the gin, and then gently pour over 200ml of your chosen tonic. Stir gently and garnish with a slice of orange.

Hennessy VS Cognac De geschiedenis achter Hennessy gaat terug tot 1765. Don Julio Reposado Don Julio González didn't have much, but what he did have was passion, and a dream. It all started back in Mexico in 1942 when he saw a unique opportunity in the production of tequila. After sharing his vision and securing a loan with a powerful local businessman, Don Julio opened his first tequila distillery in La Primavera, in the Jaliscan Highlands. It was his passion that inspired the world's first luxuary tequila.  Each day for 40 years, Don Julio would walk along the agave fields, cutting the grass around each plant (which were more like his children than a crop) to protect them. He'd harvest each plant individually, choosing those with the most optimum maturity and health and would expertly balance the bitter flavour of the piña (the heart) and the sweet leaves of the agave. The climate in the Jaliscan Highland's is the perfect microclimate for the blue agave, with warm days, cool nights and rich clay soil. The high altitude made farming and harvesting a challenge. It was physically demanding, but Don Julio endured the extreme conditions to create a luxuary tequila with exceptional substance and indisputable spirit. Don Julio Reposado Tequila is a soft and elegant aged tequila. The base is made using Don Julio Blanco, a tequila in it's truest form, unaged, double distilled and made with the finest blue agave using a time honoured distillation process. It is rested in American white oak barrels for 8 months, resulting in a tequila giving a golden amber colour and a rich and smooth finish. On the nose, there are inviting aromas of mellow lemon citrus, layered spice and a touch of ripe stone fruit. On the palate, you will enjoy hints of bitter dark chocolate, sweet vanilla and just a touch of cinnamon. The smooth and silky finish is warming with dried fruit, nuts and caramel apple. The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask Whisky Founded in 1824 (making it nearly 200 years old) The Macallan distillery is located in Craigellachie, Moray in Scotland. The Macallen is classed as the second or third best-selling single malt scotch (behind Glenfiddich, and perhaps Glenlivet). Initially The Macallan was only matured in oak sherry casks, which the distillery brought from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. However in 2004 they introduced the Fine Oak series (now known as the Triple Cask Matured range), which started mellowing whisky in bourbon oak casks as well as the classic sherry casks. The Double Cask whiskies encompass part of their core range, and this 12 Year whisky falls into this category. The Macallan team ensure a mix of European and American sherry seasoned oak casks - which allow the indulgent, yet delicate flavours of the American oak to take centre stage. The more traditional Macallan character is however still present (rich fruit, sherry and spiced wood), but in a familiar backdrop.  This is a single malt with a delightful autumnal sunset colour to it. Exceptionally well balanced, fully rounded with flavours of honey, citrus and ginger. The nose has oak, creamy butterscotch and vanilla - as well as fruit from toffee apples and candied oranges. On the palate honey, citrus and wood spices and the ginger comes through, which are perfectly balanced against raisins and caramel. The finish leaves oak lingering on the palate along with a sweet warmth. More from The Macallan Perfect Serve As with all whiskies, this is best drunk how you personally enjoy it. However the distillery recommends trying with a single large piece of ice. The large cube of ice melts slowly, diluting the drink less - ensuring you are able to enjoy a chilled drinking experience whilst tasting every drop of flavour.
