The opening immediately declares its powerful weapons: an intense, liqueur-like patchouli and leather. It shows his somewhat wild but carefree character, dangerously dressed in leather but at the same time carefree. When drying it becomes softer and more complex, thanks to a dirty iris butter which creates a softer but intriguing atmosphere. Don't be fooled by the iris, there is no romance here: tobacco leaves are pressed to roll a cigarette, the leather jacket is thrown somewhere, the delicious and tempting smell of human skin finally emerges. Francesca Bianchi thought of creating a perfume that represented a temptation, like chocolate on your fingers that you can't help but lick. Let's be clear: this is not a gourmand fragrance and finger licking is a metaphor that refers to other types of irresistible temptations. The Black Knight is a gothic, intense, sophisticated perfume inspired by Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere, Italian Renaissance leader of the Medici family (father of Cosimo the Great). I have always been fascinated by this character for his stoic dedication to his cause, his loyalty and his Spartan lifestyle – despite his noble origins. The perfume tries to recreate the atmosphere of a military camp, with the smell of dry brushwood at the opening, then the smoke of the bonfire and a hint of the horses' harnesses. Evolution takes us deeper into the soul of this severe character, revealing the presence of a secret lover, with a powdery rose rounding the intense heart of vetiver. Contrary to my habits, I did not add any typically animal notes, given that the intensity of the vetiver, together with the leather, already made it extremely strong.
