Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is the second part of the modern leg of the Castlevania series, initiated by Mercury Steam studio. The developer developed his ideas in this installment and corrected many of the shortcomings of the original. Lords of Shadow is still a fairly free adaptation of the Castlevania brand, associated with two-dimensional, non-linear platformers. Unlike the classic Castlevania, Lords of Shadow 2 is a three-dimensional action adventure game with a combat system reminiscent of God of War or Devil May Cry. In Lords of Shadow 2 we play the role of Gabriel Belmont, the hero of the first installment of the game. But Belmont is not the man we know - as revealed in the ending of "one", he fell victim to the evil he fought and transformed into the eponymous "Lord of Darkness", Dracula. After hundreds of years of brutal rule, Gabriel loses his will to live and locks himself up in a cathedral. A few centuries later, he is awakened by his old friend, Zobek, who asks for help in the fight against a new enemy - Satan. Belmont agrees to take the challenge in exchange for freeing him from the curse of immortality. The main element of Lords of Shadow 2 remains the combat system, which now requires even more finesse and tactics. Dracula has two special types of weapons: sword and claws. Each of them has different properties - for example, a sword can freeze and claws can pierce the opponent's defense. The system is connected by the mechanics of punching the power gauge, which guarantees certain additions - in order to be able to use them, you must perform your blows without fail.
