Wonderful DIY in linen Linen is a completely natural material that has been used for summer clothing for many years – and this year is no exception!  Use linen for elegant summer shirts, a trendy bucket hat, a relaxed suit, a pair of shorts, or whatever your summer wardrobe is craving this season!   Pick your favourite colour and start with needle and thread.   Linen for the home Linen also works really well for cushions and teddy bears or as a tablecloth with matching napkins for a beautifully decorated table. Let the surface wrinkle naturally for a relaxed and modern look, or iron the tablecloth before use for a completely smooth surface.   Linen – the natural material Linen is a natural fibre that has been used for clothing for thousands of years. It is a durable, light, breathable and absorbent material, often used in warm weather. It tends to wrinkle and is therefore perfect for a more casual look.   Did you know that linen becomes softer when you wash it a few times?   A bit more about this linen The fabric is made of 100% linen, comes in a width of 135 cm and precisely the length you need. This linen shrinks 5% in wash.   We recommend using universal needles in size 80 when sewing in this linen.   What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health label for textiles.  When the fabric is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, it's your guarantee that it has been tested and approved and is free from any harmful chemicals.

Polar fleece light blue

Polar fleece light blue

The loveliest projects in fleeceFind your favourite colour and start creating your new project! Polar fleece is light, soft and stretchy - a great material that also insulates. That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. It's easy to throw in the washing machine at 40° max and is quick-drying, but can also be tumble-dried at a low temperature if you need it faster. Be aware that it shrinks about 3% in the wash, so it's a good idea to wash the fabric before starting your project. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in fleece. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.
