Bias binding has the (almost) magical ability to adapt to many fabrics. It is – as the name suggests – cut on the bias and therefore naturally follows your curves, neckline cuts, corners, and edges. This results in a beautiful finish.
How to Sew On Bias Binding
Bias binding is for sewing onto curves, corners, and straight stretches. When sewing the bias binding onto your project, you stitch in straight lines with a stitch length of about 2.5 cm. While sewing, ensure you don't pull or stretch it. Let it align naturally along the edge for a neat finish.
TIP
When starting to sew your bias binding, fold in about 2 cm to create a double layer. Upon finishing, tuck the other end's fold over your folded start. The same principle applies when extending a bias binding.
