This low-growing bamboo is native to China and Japan, where it is used for small hedges and borders.
It’s easy to confuse Bambusa Nana with Thai Bambusa Nana (also known as Thai Silk Bamboo), because their names are so similar, but in appearance the two Nanas are worlds apart! Thai Bambusa Nana is a much darker green, can reach heights of 10 meters, often has no leaves on its lower half and is used in the construction industry. Where as the Bambusa Nana sold here at GardenPlantsOnline, is a small, shrub-like ornamental grass that produces dense bright green foliage, and is better suited to ground coverage.
