“Amanecer” (Dawn) from Visions del llano (Visions of the Plains), a suite of two pieces that expresses the composer's memories of the Venezuelan Plains, represents one of the most magical moments of that part of the world. The music depicts the rising of the sun that warms up everything and awakens the diverse life in the plains.

“Fiesta” (Party) from Visiones del llano (Visions of the Plains), a suite of two pieces that expresses the composer's memories of the Venezuelan Plains, is intended to be a representation of the typical folkloric instruments of the area (cuatro, shakers, and Venezuelan harp). The text is onomatopoeic of their sounds while the combination and juxtapositions of 6/8 and 3/4 meters are characteristic of the music.

Mandango : Five Gay-Themed Pieces for Piano

Premiered in New York in 2009 with the composer David Del Tredici as soloist, “Mandango” is a set of five gay-themed pieces for piano lasting 26 minutes: “Same-Sex Marriage”, “LGBT”, “In Memoriam A.C.”, “Mummification” und “Mandango”.

Songs For Baritone And Piano

This edition is a compilation of Del Tredici's songs for baritone and piano. Apart from the song-cycle 'Gay Life' and the collection 'Three Baritone Songs', it also contains the two songs 'What Lips My Lips Have Kissed' and 'Ballad in Yellow'.

From Del Tredici's program notes: “The sense of moment is emphasized by augmenting the choral forces with a soprano soloist and pianist, who open the work with an extended aria. The ensuing choral commentary and soprano cadenza lead to a repetition and climactic development of the aria theme, now shared by chorus, soloist and piano equally. ... Here, the enging is a triumphant C-major chord, capped by a high C for all the sopranos.”

Acrostic Song : from Final Allice

This moving piece is the lullaby-like concluding aria from Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Del Tredici's Final Alice, the fifth of six large works for soprano and orchestra based on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland books. This arrangement for band is designed to be playable by a wide variety of groups, appropriate for large or small ensembles. The gentle melody, heartrending harmonies, and artful instrumental voicing give this piece a truly timeless feel.
