CrossCode is a dynamic 2D RPG set in science fiction. The gameplay is based on arcade battles with numerous opponents and on solving logical puzzles . The independent German studio Radical Fish Games is responsible for the development of CrossCode , while the publishing issues were handled by Deck13 Interactive. When creating the game, the creators were inspired by retro titles from SNES and PlayStation consoles. As part of the production financing, a campaign was launched on the Indiegogo platform, where the authors managed to obtain over 110% of the funds needed. Before its official premiere, CrossCode was part of Early Access on the Steam platform.StoryCrossCode takes us to the world of the distant future, where people spend their free time experiencing adventures in a futuristic MMO game called CrossWorlds . CrossWorlds differs from modern games of this type in that its world is not located only in virtual space, but on the border between cyberspace and the real world : players' avatars move in specially designated real locations, and outsiders can observe their actions through the AG goggles ( Augmented Reality ). The character we play during the game is Lea - a former CrossWorlds regular , logging into the game world as a young, blue-haired girl . Lea's return to CrossWorlds is dictated by a sad necessity: the heroine suffers from memory loss, and some administration claims that re-visiting the colorful MMO can help her regain her memories. It quickly turns out that some of the inhabitants of CrossWorlds remember Lea and have their own evil plans for her...GameplayCrossCode is a dynamic RPG, full of arcade fights and logic puzzles . The game world is presented with 2D graphics, but the third dimension is also present - some objects will remain out of range of our weapons until we jump on a higher object and catch up with the target.
